Some new picture while I’m preparing myself for a new project...

I’m just back from a holidays week in New York, I didn’t take many pictures, the city was far too big and I’ve just preferred to stare at the city. At the same time I had the strong feeling that, whatever picture I would have taken, it wouldn’t be able to show my feelings about the city.

Kapoor al Grand Palais
Monumenta 2011 - Anish Kapoor
Monumenta è una mostra/esibizione che si svolge al Grand Palais a Parigi.
L'impressione è che chiamino un artista e gli dicano "Il Grand Palais è tuo per 5 settimane. Vedi di riempirlo".
Quando ho visto l'opera di Kapoor ho finalmente capito il concetto di scultura monumentale ai nostri giorni.
Solo il fatto che sia riuscito ad immaginare un'opera del genere
Hangar Bicocca - Anselm Kiefer
Per completare la mia visita all’Hangar Bicocca non posso non segnalre il lavoro di Anselm Kiefer “I sette palazzi celesti”... Citando l sito ufficiale “L'HangarBicocca ha aperto le sue porte al pubblico per la prima volta a settembre 2004 presentando la monumentale opera I Sette Palazzi Celesti che Anselm Kiefer ha realizzato appositamente per lo spazio, scegliendo di occupare l'intero volume della navata più grande all'interno del corpo centrale dell’Hangar”.
Per quanto mi riguarda non si tratta solo di un lavoro immenso (anche in senso letterale) ma anche di un capolavoro che mi lascia ogni volta senza fiato (e ci sono andato già 3 volte), potete immaginare cosa si prova ad osservare 7 torri alte anche 15/16 metri all’interno di un Hangar dipinto di nero?

Only to complete my visit to Hangar Bicocca I can’t avoid to signal the work of Anselm Kiefer - The Seven Heavenly Palaces” ... Quoting the official website “Hangar Bicocca opened its doors to the public for the first time in September 2004, presenting the monumental work The Seven Heavenly Palaces that Anselm Kiefer created especially for the space, choosing to occupy the entire length of the largest aisle inside the central volume of the Hangar Bicocca”
To me it’s not simply a huge work but also a astonishing masterpiece (can you imagine the feelings in staring at 7 towers 15/16 meters hight inside a black painted Hangar?! So far I’ve been there 3 times to watch the towers and, even last time, I left breathless.

Hangar Bicocca - Terre Vulnerabili (exhibition)
Sono appena andato a vedere questa meravigliosa mostra il cui sottotitolo è “L’anello più debole della catena è anche il più forte, perché può romperla” , meravigliosa!!
I just went to this new exhibition with a fantastic subtitle which reads “The chain's weakest link is also the strongest because it can break the chain”, awesome !!

E’ qualche settimana che mi sto recando sempre più spesso in Piemonte e, così, ho deciso di condividere con voi i bellissimi panorami che sto scoprendo.
It’s some week, s far, that I’m visiting more and more often Piedmont. Landscapes are, very often, very beautiful so I decided to share with you a selection of the pictures i’ve taken.
Brazil !
Siamo andati in Brasile per la nostra luna di miele che, in realtà, ha avuto luogo 7 anni dopo il nostro matrimonio.
Non avevamo tempo quando ci siamo sposati per una luna di miele ma, a mio parere, è stato anche meglio andare dopo tanti anni. Il fatto di essere assieme da tanto tempo ci ha consentito di goderci completamente i luoghi di questo paese sterminato e fantastico.
Today, after many weeks, I was able to reorganize my Brazilian pictures.
We went to Brazil for our honeymoon (after 7 years of marriage). Actually we didn’t have time when we got married but in my opinion it was even better to postpone the honeymoon.
To many things to see in Brazil and it’s better to be fully engaged in your relationship not to lose anything in such a huge and fantastic place.

Il 2011 è iniziato e, dopo il viaggio in Brasile, sono rimasto sommerso da oltre 1600 fotografie tra le quali avrei deciso di scegliere non più di 20/30 immagini... un’attività che sta richiedendo un sacco di tempo anche perché il lavoro è ripartito in una maniera furibonda. Così aspetto, tra un aereo e l’altro, che arrivi finalmente il momento di potermi dedicare a me stesso.
2011 started some weeks ago and, after the travel to Brazil, I’ve been swallowed by 1.600 pictures out of which I would like to pick not more than 20/30 images ... it’s an activity which is taking time and energies also because things at work have turned hectic almost immediately. So I wait, between flights, that eventually time will arrive to rest and taking care of my interests

Eccoci di ritorno da un “lungo” viaggio in Brasile. Il 2011 è iniziato con una caterva di foto anche se non so quante, alla fine, saranno pubblicate. Inizio con queste due ... dal momento che è così divertente scattare anche se la post produzione ruba tanto tempo!
Back from a “very long” holiday in Brazil. 2011 started with a number of pictures (it’s so ice when you are shooting but after you must spend so much time for postproduction...)

Alieno è un gruppo di immagini unite solo dal mezzo di ripresa (iphone) e dal fine, l’estraneità a me stesso. Oppure l’alieno sono io?
Alieno it’s a gallery of pictures linked only by the tool used to take them (iphone) and the purpose, to show things which are alien to my nature. Or maybe the I’m the alien?
Last words
Nelle ultime due settimane non ho scattato foto e, a dire il vero, non ho avuto neanche voglia di aprire la borsa della macchina fotografica. Ho voglia di iniziare da questo progetto che non mi è ancora chiaro, so cosa vorrei ma non ho veramente idea di come ottenerlo.
Ecco i primi tentativi che, penso, scompariranno nel tempo. Ho voglia di fermare le ultime parole, quelle che non dovresti dimenticare... ma è soprattutto un omaggio ai libri come oggetti.
I should admit that, after the finalization of Working Class, I felt completely empty.
During last two weeks I didn’t have even the willingness to open my camera bag. Now I’m starting again with this project which is still unclear. I know what I want but I don’t really know how to achieve it.
I would like to freeze the last words, the ones that you should not forget, but it’s also a tribute to books.

Non che il lavoro sia finito, ora inizia la parte finale con la creazione del libro... per certi versi anche più difficile perché fatta di miriadi di minuzie che non voglio sbagliare (ad esempio i nomi delle persone che hanno partecipato)
Da domani inizio a smontare il set e ad organizzarmi per il nuovo progetto (ho bisogno di Super Eroi) sono curioso di vedere come va a finire
Today was the last shooting day for Working Class and, after 5 months, I finalized the project !!
There are still a lot of things to be done, a number of details that I do want not to miss (i.e. the names of people participating)
Tomorrow I will start to bring back home my gear and to organize the new project (I need Super Heroes), really curious to see how it will end...
Sempre più vicini
Dovrei aver completato le fotografie ed ora è partito il controllo finale, le revisioni e ... i ripensamenti. Le foto scelte saranno le migliori? Possono essere migliorate? i colori sono quelli giusti?
Working Class sta arrivando alla sua fase finale (ho mandato in stampa la prima versione del libro per vedere l’effetto finale e, ora, mi aggiungo anch’io alla galleria. La mia foto è stata scattata da Marco.
L’ultimo grande scoglio è la copertina, l’idea è quella di trovare un’immagine che non sia quella di una persona specifica, ma che fatica ! Per favore se leggete questo topic mandatemi suggerimenti !!!

It’s known that the last meters before the end are the longest ones but, eventually, centimeter by centimeter, we are getting closer.
I believe that I won’t take any other shot and now the final check started ... and all the doubts. Did I chose the right pictures? How can I improve them? Colors are the right ones?
Working Class it’s arriving to the final phase (already printed a first draft to have a reality check) and now I add a picture of myself to the gallery (picture taken by Marco).
Last issue to solve is the cover, I would like not to use a picture of a person, but I haven’t been able to find a solution so far! If you read this topic send my a suggestion, I will really appreciate them all.
